Gerlinde Butzphal and Jane Maier-Fairclough:
The Genesis of a Textbook

ELTA-Rhine members Gerlinde Butzphal and Jane Maier-Fairclough have completed writing “Career Express.  Business English B2”.  The book is now available through Cornelsen.  In their talk, Jane and Gerlinde will tell us about their experiences, trials and tribulations  in making the transition from ELT teacher to ELT author.  We’ll also have the possibility to admire their “baby”.

Chris Searles:  Using New Media in Language Teaching.

There is a vast amount of good teaching materials available on the internet.  Chris Searles' hands-on workshop will show you how to access, download, manage and use such resources as podcasts, video-casts and streaming media.  The Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg's Language Lab offers the perfect setting for hands-on practice, but you may want to bring your own laptop with you, in order to save and take home all the new tools and ideas on your very own computer.
